I practice ASP.NET Web Development and have a background in graphic design.
I’m an ASP.NET Web Developer with a background in graphic and web design. I started my career providing freelance services in web development and expanded my graphic design skills working in the newspaper industry. My advanced knowledge of Adobe’s suite of graphic design software opened the door to finding something more challenging. I’ve found my true passion in software development. The highly technical and analytical thinking involved with application development is an interesting contrast to the type of problem solving associated with graphic design. I’ve come to appreciate both but I find writing software much more challenging and rewarding. My goals are to continue writing ASP.NET applications, for both desktop and mobile environments, and design functional user interfaces for these applications. Some of my Interests
Print Design
Brochures, Fliers, Business Cards, Newsletters, the works. Whether it’s building a full process color advertisement or designing a spot color logo, they all require an effective layout. Check out some samples.
Web Design
Valid HTML, CSS, and jQuery are a few of the tools I use to build cross-browser compatible web pages. With the increasing need for mobile support, responsive design techniques are a must. Take a look at my portfolio to see some websites I’ve built for my clients.
Web Development
I’m fond of MVC architecture and using a repository pattern for my data access layer. When developing ASP.NET projects Unit Testing is a must. I was the proud owner of a $10 Gift Card to Chipotle for a Unit Testing challenge my department had over the summer. Unfortunately, $10 at Chipotle does not go far when you eat there as much as I do.
